Carol has written an excellent Bible study for children and their parents. The study begins by helping children understand what a special creation they are and focuses on helping them describe their individual talents and the uniqueness of their family. God’s love and protection are addressed before moving on to describe the battle that every child of God faces. In a non-scary way the topics of evil and difficulties are presented using scripture references. One chapter is devoted to the armor of God and how to fight back against the lies the enemies wants us to believe. The last chapter helps children understand how God is our helper and protector and that no matter what we go through the truth in Romans 8:28 is a promise we can stand on. I can see this study being especially helpful for children or families that are facing transitions and struggles. It would also be useful to study in a time of calm to prepare for future difficult situations. Since our children are older, we used the study during family devotion time. We took a little longer to meditate on the different pieces of armor and tried to find ways to use them in the days between devotions. We found the study helpful and recommend it not only for younger children but for also for families with teens.
