We bought 2 pairs. First fell apart immediately, second is working out well for the price. My first review was as follows:Started to fall apart after one month of use. No exaggeration. The front fabric separated from the soles (about 1" within one month). Now, about 4 months later, the fabric is separated from the soles across the whole front length of about 4 inches on one shoe, and an inch on the other shoe. I only wanted these shoes to last one year until my son outgrew them, and I liked the price. I was really surprised how quickly they fell apart, and from light use, no less! My 7 yo son just used them a couple times/week for gym and occasional outings to indoor places, as this was over the winter months (October - Feb)New review for second pair:Affordable, flexible size 5 boys shoes are hard to find. So I bought this pair again, begrudgingly. It is actually working out great. He uses them the same (for his sports league and every day play shoe). No issues after 6 months. So I upgraded the rating from 2 to 4 stars. If your boy is needing this size there is a good chance he will need to bump up to a men's shoe. Youth shoes are built on a woman's foot model whether they are boy or girl shoe styles. This is important to know as a 12, 13, or 14 year old may need an adult male shoe due to the male foot model providing more depth for the shoe. No matter how wide you buy the shoe, the depth will be too shallow and the velcro closure will not close if your child has already developed the thicker foot of a young man. I did not know this when purchasing and I hope this helps you with your ordering so you don't waste time and money like I did. Luckily the return process went smoothly!I love that these shoes are available for my son that does not like to tie his shoes, but I will warn these are VERY NARROW shoes. I had to return this pair and buy him a "wide" pair. My son is average size for his age so I'm not sure why these are made so narrow. He couldn't strap them closed. I bought another "wide" pair and he is having no more issues, and says he loves the shoe.My son loves these ! The only problem with them is they fall apart within 2 months :/ . This is our second pair .My other grandson has realized that the NB shoe fits his feet well . He is trying this new style for him and so far says he really likes them. They are newer so we will see how well they endure through his active sport days! Good fit and comfortable .These have got to be the worst shoes I've ever purchased for one of my kids. Our school requires boys to wear solid gray sneakers and most of the boys wear this style. My son wore them one day and they came home looking so ratty! (He's not a real messy kid.) After a week or so I decided to try and wash them because I figured they couldn't look any worse. They survived and now I scrub them down and wash them frequently in an attempt to keep them from looking so gross. They do hold up to washing and air drying. The combination of real suede and light color is a disaster for little kids in my opinion. I'll go back to buying Tsukihoshi brand for my son. At least they stay looking neat and clean. We have found that NB fit insole orthotics for our kids much much better than any other brand of shoes without compromising any comfort. This is 2nd time buying this shoe for my son. He loves this style says they are very comfortable. They have been durable and look great .acquistate per mio figlio, si sono rivelate un buon prodotto. Ottima resistenza e (a detta sua) molto comode. Si lavano bene ed il velcro tiene bene saldo il piedePerfectas en diseño y comodidad!! La volvería a comprar sin duda
